Margaret Kelly, Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist
Hypnotherapy Clinic at Burleigh
The health of my clients, and my own, is a serious business. During this time of covid-19, additional precautions are being taken in the office with heightened awareness of maintaining a healthy environment. This means that in between client visits, surfaces are disinfected and hands washed before and after each client. Also, clients exhibiting any symptoms or at risk will have visits postponed or may have sessions conducted at prearranged times by Skype. So please, also be aware of your own health status so that the clinic can continue to provide all our clients with care and respect in this challenging time. Thank you.
Margaret has a therapeutic practice specialising in Clinical Hypnotherapy. With a clinic of 20 years in Burleigh, she is well known to doctors, other professionals and locals, working mainly by word of mouth referrals. She is practical and down to earth, and believes that sometimes we all need a little help to overcome life’s challenges – no matter how strong we normally are!
The hypnotic state is often misunderstood, and assumed to be an artificial state with a complete loss of control by the subject. Nothing could be further from the truth! Rather, the hypnotic state is a natural state of mind that all people access daily, and when used properly, allows people better control over their minds, and therefore how they cope with the situations in their lives.
In a therapeutic context, hypnotherapy allows clients to reach a deeper level of their mind where the problems are occurring, and to change their thinking on that deeper level.
Hypnotherapy is useful for stopping smoking, overcoming or learning to better manage anxiety, sheddingweight, overcoming phobias, stress, dealing with grief and trauma, improving sleep, enhancing performance, overcoming drug and gambling problems, getting alcohol use under control, and many other issues. It can even help people cope with getting dental work done.
Margaret is also the Director of the Australian College of Clinical Hypnotherapy, a private college based in Queensland which is recognised nationally by the peak body for the profession, the Hypnotherapy Council of Australia, as the Australian and Pacific College of Clinical Hypnotherapy. She is an Accredited Consultant and Trainer of The Goulding Process – SleepTalk™ for Children, and a Professional Clinical Member of the Australian Association of Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (AACHP).
Clients are seen by appointment only, so the first contact for assistance is by phone. It is essential to call first, as there is often a waiting period of a few weeks to be seen. For urgent matters, you may request to go on the waiting list for a cancellation.
